Welcome. The Artcafe Artist’s Network is one of the earliest internet communities for artists and remained in active operation since it’s inception in October of 1995. More of our history can be viewed here. According to ArtCafe Founder and Director Sharon Himes, “Our goal has always been to bring artists together and learn from each others’ experience”. It is our philosophy that all artists who create original work are equal. While the talent, education and experience may vary, all are striving toward making the next piece of art better than the last.
The ArtCafe.Net publishes monthly articles on art and related topics, hosts an active bulletin board where artists and friends can discuss their work and sponsors creative challenges and other projects for members. Our content includes articles and demonstrations by contributing writers as well as features on subjects ranging from online sources and media techniques to artist interviews and member projects. The ArtCafe.Net has been recognized by several artists’ magazines and is frequented by artists ranging from students and hobbiests to internationally known professionals.
Community participation is free and open to artists and non-artists alike. It is our philosophy that all artists who create original work are equal. While the talent, education and experience may vary, all are striving toward making the next piece of art better than the last. We respect the creative spirit in everyone and invite their participation. Interested art viewers and collectors are always welcome.
Please Note: While we prefer to maintain an open attitude toward an artists work, we reserve the right to reject submissions to ArtCafe Associate exhibits or features that are not original or that are inappropriate to a family audience. We have no objection to nudity in art but we will not exhibit or link to work or sites that may be considered offensive, hateful or pornographic. We reserve the right to reject work for any reason.
